How to Fix Sagging in Gravity Sewer Lines

Most homeowners don’t pay much attention to their property’s piping system until a problem comes up. This system moves sewage waste from homes to a municipal sewage system in the local community. It’s essential for it to always work properly to avoid the accumulation of waste, which could lead to huge problems for the household.

It’s true that homeowners should use cooling or heating repair services for their home HVAC systems, and also need to have their roofing systems inspected and repaired from time to time. However, piping systems are also an essential part of every property, and at times may require periodic repairs as well.

Gravity is the main factor that affects the movement of waste through these pipelines. With enough gravity, solid and liquid waste are easily moved along to the municipal sewage system. However, a sagging issue can hinder this movement.

Fixing Sags with Trenchless Technology

A modern method of drain and sewer repair involves trenchless technology. During installation, it utilizes existing pipes as guides to install the new ones. Using an expansion head, the old pipe is pushed while the new pipe is pulled in. With this method, digging isn’t necessary. The expansion allows the soil to compact, which helps the new pipe remain at the appropriate slope.

Another method is a replacement technique called slip lining. It involves slipping a smaller pipe inside the old pipe. After the new pipe is installed and properly positioned, the old pipe is discarded.

As when hiring air conditioning repair specialists, it’s important to find a reliable contractor who can provide the professional services needed to take care of this project.
